Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc pepper price dropped VND1,000 / kg to VND52,000 / kg.
In Chau Duc district (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) pepper price is kept at 54,000 VND / kg, this is still the region with the highest pepper price in the region.
Similarly, Dong Nai pepper price was at 52,000 VND / kg.
Coffee price
Price of coffee decreased 100 VND / kg
Coffee prices today 19/7 in localities continued to reduce 300 VND / kg. The price of coffee in Tay Nguyen range from 34,300 to 34,800 VND / kg.
Specifically, in Bao Loc district (Lam Dong) coffee price after reducing 100 VND / kg today is kept at 34,400 VND / kg, coffee price in Di Linh, Lam Ha lower and is 34,300- VND 34,400 / Kg.
Coffee prices today in Cu M’gar district (Dak Lak), Ea H’leo (Dak Lak) are fluctuating in the range of 34,700 – 34,800 VND / kg. Coffee price in Buon Ho district is 34,700 VND / kg.
In Gia Lai, the price of coffee declined slightly at VND 34,600 per kg.
Similarly, coffee prices in Kon Tum today are 34,500 VND / kg.
While Dak Nong province’s coffee price today is VND34,500 / kg.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, weather conditions in the Central Highlands are very favorable for the coffee crop later this year. At present, Vietnamese coffee growers only have about 10% of the 2017/2018 coffee output. Meanwhile, companies have exported nearly two-thirds of coffee stocks. Many Vietnamese farmers still keep their coffee in stock because of low prices.
The World Coffee Organization estimates that global coffee production in the 2017-20 crop will reach 158.56 million bags, 1.3% lower than the previous crop. In particular, South America’s coffee output is forecast to fall 8.2 percent to 70.57 million bags. Arabica coffee output is expected to fall 6.6% to 97.16 million bags.
By contrast, Robusta production is forecast to increase 11.5% to 61.4 million bags. Total volume of coffee exports in May 2018 decreased 12.4% compared with the same period last year to 9.27 million bags. In particular, exports of Robusta coffee decreased 4.4% to 3.65 million bags, exports of Arabica coffee fell 17% to 5.62 million bags.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that coffee prices are hard to increase because the market is still under pressure from new supply and demand is not much improved.
