The market this week showed a positive trend when only India recorded a decline.

In the local market, black pepper of Malabar was reported to have decreased by 1% from the previous week, averagely at 4,121 USD / ton. Prices of Indonesian black and white pepper increased by 1% compared to last week, averagely at US $ 1,622 / ton and US $ 2,823 / ton respectively. This slight increase is probably due to the increase of the Indonesian Rupiah against the USD (IDR 15,413 / USD). Malaysian black and white pepper were also reported to increase by 1% from the previous week, with an average price of 1,701 USD / ton and 3,052 USD / ton, respectively. Vietnam black pepper recorded an increase of 1% from the previous week with an average of USD 1,649 / ton while Vietnam's white pepper price was stable and unchanged. Sri Lanka black pepper was reported to increase by 3% from the previous week and at an average of USD 2,680 / ton. Chinese white pepper was stable and unchanged.

International markets also showed a positive outlook when only India recorded a decline. Indian black pepper was reported to have decreased by 1% from the previous week and traded at an average of USD 4,385 / ton. Prices of Indonesian black and white pepper increased by 1% compared to last week, averaging at US $ 2.00 per ton for black pepper and US $ 3,353 per ton for white pepper. Malaysian black and white pepper continued to be stable and unchanged. Vietnam black pepper prices were 500 g / l, 550 g / l and Vietnamese white pepper went sideways. Similarly, Chinese white pepper also recorded stability.

The US market this week has traded slowly due to the impact of corona virus.
