According to the preliminary data report of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in May 2022 reached 18,693 tons of pepper of all kinds, down 320 tons, or 1.68% lower than the previous month but increased by 1,209 tons. , ie an increase of 6.91% over the same period last year.

The value of export turnover in the month reached 76.09 million USD, down 4.04 million USD, or 5.04% compared to the previous month and up 10.15 million USD, or 15.40 % higher than the same period last year. last year.

The cumulative export volume of pepper in the first 8 months of 2022 reached a total of 160,891 tons of pepper of all kinds, down 36,781 tons, or 18.61% lower than the export volume in the first 8 months of 2021.

In terms of export value in the first 8 months of 2022, it totaled 714.54 million USD, up 57.09 million USD, or 8.58% increase over the same period.

The average export price of pepper in August 2022 reached US$4,070/ton, down 3.42% compared to the average export price of July 2022.

The “Zéro covid” policy of China, the leading pepper import market, has caused the country’s pepper exports to continue to take place in stagnation, in addition to the world economic recession that has made demand Consumption of condiments slowed down because consumers were forced to save money.
