Vietnam imports nearly 2 billion USD of agricultural products from Cambodia

On May 30, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) informed that in the first 5 months of 2022, the export value of agriculture – forestry – fishery was estimated at 23.2 billion USD, up 16.8% compared with the same period last year; import was estimated at 18.1 billion USD, down 0.3% over the same period.

Notably, in the first 5 months of the year, Cambodia was the market where Vietnam imported the most agricultural products, with more than 1.9 billion USD, accounting for 10.7% market share of agricultural imports; followed by Brazil with 1.6 billion USD; third is China with 1.5 billion USD; and fourth is the US with 1.4 billion USD.

Vietnam imports the most from Cambodia, which is cashew raw materials (the first 4 months of the year imported 767 million USD) and other agricultural products such as pepper, rice, vegetables, etc.
