Compared to the same period of 2008, the export volume increased by 47% to 33,743 tons, especially white pepper increased by 125% to 8,973 tons. The total export turnover reached US $ 256 million, of which black pepper gained US $ 198 million and white pepper gained US $ 58 million. Although the export volume increased sharply, due to the low export price of pepper, the turnover increased by only 2.5% compared to the same period of 2008.
