“Pepper productivity has increased and good quality,” said Mr. Nguon.

“Pepper sales at souvenir shops in Cambodia have dropped. Previously they could sell about 7-8 tons but now only sell 1-2 tons, “Mr. Nguon added.

The Kampot Pepper Promotion Association has 455 members including farmers and companies with pepper plantations.

These plantations cover 290 hectares of land in Kampong Trach district, Kampot province. The main markets of Kampot pepper are EU, USA, Japan, China and Korea.

Brazil's green coffee exports reached 36.6 million bags (60 kg / bag) in 2019, an increase of 14.8% over the previous year to a record high, Reuters citing sources from the Cecafé Export Association in a report on Wednesday (January 15).

Cecafé President Nelson Carvalhaes shared that Brazil is expected to export larger volumes by 2020, although low stockpiles may limit shipments until June when the new crop begins.

The 2020 crop is expected to be favorable, allowing Brazil to increase export volumes in the second half of this year.

Brazil will return to the main production year in 2020 when the country alternates with the main and secondary production years due to the characteristics of arabica coffee.

The South American country produced a record 61.6 million bags in the biennial cycle in 2018. Production dropped to 49.3 million bags in 2019, the year of informal production.

Merchants and experts expect coffee production to once again reach a record in 2020, but some have changed their views due to poorer crop care conditions and adverse climatic conditions in a Regional number in Brazil.
