This morning, August 5, while the price in the Central Highlands was still at 111,000-112,000 VND/kg, the price of bucket pepper in Ba Ria-Vung Tau continued to increase by 1,000 VND to 116,000 VND/kg, higher than 5,000. compared to the first day of the week. This is the level offered by some traders to buy and pick up the price.

Those who do not want to release the goods are mostly well-off farmers who can harvest a few tons of pepper each season or more. Many also said they were waiting for a “more satisfactory price”.
According to Customs statistics, pepper exports in the first half of July reached 4,988 tons, with a turnover of US$29.54 million, bringing the export volume of the first 6.5 months of the year to 74,607 tons, with a turnover of 405,023 million. USD, although decreased by 3.69% in volume but increased by 64.51% in turnover value over the same period last year.
The average export price of pepper in the first half of July reached US$5,921/ton, up 2.07% compared to the June price.
Up to now, the pepper harvest in the central region has not been completed, but the output may not be as expected due to the impact of last year’s heavy rains and floods.
