In the past 8 months, Vietnam’s rice export has recorded an increase in prices, compared with the 7-month average, in the eight months the rice export price has increased by 2 USD / ton to 489 USD / ton.
Rice exported to many markets reached over 600 USD / ton, the highest was the US with 689 USD / ton, followed by Algeria 673 USD / ton, Australia 628 USD / ton … China also ranked in the top 10 markets. Vietnam exported rice with the highest price in the first 8 months of this year, reaching 591 USD / ton.
In August, rice exports to a number of markets increased strongly compared to July such as Senegal increased 177% in volume, 105% in turnover, reaching 670 tons, worth $ 0.27 million; The Netherlands increased 85% in volume, increased 104% in turnover, reached 730 tons, worth $ 0.43 million; Philippines increased 88% in volume, 102% in turnover, reached 222,866 tons, worth 109.35 million USD; France increased 103% in volume, up 81% in turnover, reaching 191 tons, equivalent to 0.11 million USD.
Generally for 8 months, our country exported the most rice to the Philippines with 1.72 million tons, equivalent to 797.6 million USD, the average price of 464.2 USD / ton; accounting for 37% of the country’s total rice export volume and 35% of the total turnover. Compared to the same period last year, down 2.4% in volume, but up 11% in turnover and up 14% in turnover.
China ranked second with 536,191 tons, worth 316.9 million USD, average price 591 USD / ton; accounting for nearly 12% of volume and 14% of turnover. Over the same period, an increase of 54% in volume, an increase of 83% in turnover and an increase of 18% in price.
