In particular, tea exports to Pakistan reached 48,750 tons, worth US $ 96.4 million, up 29.2% in volume and up 18.6% in value compared to 2018.

Pakistan is the largest tea import market globally. According to worldstopexports, Pakistan's tea import value in 2018 reached US $ 571.3 million, accounting for 7.7% of global tea import value.

Thus, imports from Vietnam account for a low proportion of Pakistan's import demand, there is still an opportunity for Vietnamese tea exporters to boost exports to this market, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

In addition, tea exports to Taiwan market in 2019 reached 19,050 tons, worth 29.8 million USD, up 2.5% in volume and up 3.6% in value compared to 2018.

However, tea exports to the Chinese market fell sharply in volume, but increased sharply in value because the average export price of tea products to this market increased sharply in 2019.

Regarding types of tea, in 2019, green tea was the most exported category, reaching 58,170 tons, worth US $ 117.65 million, down 1.7% in volume, but up 1.1% in value over the year. 2018.

In particular, green tea export to Pakistan market reached 38,300 tons, worth 77.2 million USD, up 10.7% in volume and up 2.6% in value compared to 2018, accounting for 65.9% Total amount of green tea exported. Next are markets like China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines …

Meanwhile, the export of black tea in 2019 reached 56,700 tons, worth nearly 78 million USD, down 7.7% in volume and down 8.6% in value compared to 2018.

Black tea exports mainly to some markets in 2019 such as Russia, Pakstan, Taiwan, Indonesa, Iraq … In which, black tea exported to Russia accounted for 21.6% of total export, reaching 12,200 tons, valued at US $ 18.08 million, down 9% in volume and down 11.6% in value compared to 2018.
