According to the Center for Industrial and Commercial Information (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the price of live hog today in the Northern region simultaneously keeps the price passing around 71,000 – 73,000 VND/kg, the lowest in all 3 regions.
In particular, Bac Giang, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Thai Binh are localities with the highest price of live hog in the area, reaching 73,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh are localities with the lowest price of live hog in the area at 71,000 VND/kg.
In the Central – Central Highlands regions, live hogs cost 77,000 VND/kg in Lam Dong and Binh Thuan. In the remaining localities in the region, the price of live hog does not record new adjustments. Currently, live hogs in this area are purchased by traders in the range of 71,000 – 75,000 VND/kg.
The price of pork in people’s markets in Hanoi increased sharply.
Meanwhile, in the southern region, the price of live pigs continues to increase rapidly, appearing at 78,000 VND/kg in the provinces: Dong Nai, Vung Tau, Vinh Long and Ben Tre. Other provinces and cities in the region also increased by 1-2 prices. The price of live hog in the South ranges from 76,000 to 78,000 VND/kg.
Thus, the momentum of increasing the price of live pigs after the Lunar New Year has not stopped, sometimes even increased to stand up. The current price is the highest in the past 3 years.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the cause is indicated because the disease appears in some places. Along with that, provinces and cities tighten the environmental issues in breeding and farms that are not eligible to “hang”. Meanwhile, the demand before and after Tet increases, so this time there is a shortage of pork.
However, Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Livestock Production (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), said that with the total herd of pigs, the shortage of pork supply is only a local phenomenon.
The price of pork increases will be difficult to maintain for a long time because the total herd of more than 30 million basic children meet the domestic consumption needs.
Recorded at the people’s markets in Hanoi showed that the price of pork: tenderloin, shoulder ribs, lean shoulders, three only 160,000 VND/kg; Lean butt, shoulders 130,000 to 140,000 VND/kg; Bones and nails 85000-90,000 VND/1kg. Increasing more than 20,000 VND/kg depending on the type, this price is even higher than before Tet.
