The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development directs the implementation of some pepper production activities at the request of the VPA

After listening to some recommendations of Ms. Nguyen Mai Oanh, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of Vietnam Pepper Association, representing for pepper industry, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh gave a conclusion and directing the implementation units with specific contents such as Notice No. 3734 / TB-BNN-VP, May 5, 2017 of the Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as follows:

1 / – Pepper breeding breeding: The Department of Science, Technology and Environment Department was assigned to direct the Central Highlands Institute of Science and Technology and related units to urgently carry out research to determine agro-biological characteristics of some popular pepper cultivars in key pepper growing areas, select filter, restore to create a clean set of pepper for production, report to the Ministry before July 2017;

2 / – Improve the process of sustainable pepper farming: Assigning the Department of Crop Production to coordinate with the Plant Protection Department and the Vietnam Pepper Association step by step to further improve the sustainable pepper cultivation process, so that the pepper products can meet export requirements on the basis of Process of growing, tending and harvesting pepper was issued;

3 / – Piloting the planning, granting certificates and planting codes to some localities and enterprises exporting safe pepper products: Assigning the Plant Protection Department to coordinate with the Vietnam Pepper Association and a number of concerned units in piloting the grant of planting region codes for pepper for export, firstly select a number of localities with suitable land conditions. and apply sustainable intensive farming measures.
