After listening to a number of recommendations from Ms. Nguyen Mai Oanh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Pepper Association, representing the pepper industry, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh concluded and directing units to implement, specific content as Notice No. 3734/TB-BNN-VP, dated 5/5/2017 of the Office of MARD as follows:
1/- The selection and breeding of pepper varieties: Assign the Department of Science, Technology and Environment to direct the Central Highlands Agricultural Science and Technology Institute and related units to urgently conduct research to determine the agro-biological characteristics of some popular pepper varieties in some key pepper growing areas. filter, restore to create disease-free pepper varieties for production, report to the Ministry before July 2017;
2/- Completing the sustainable pepper farming process: Assign the Department of Cultivation to coordinate with the Department of Plant Protection and the Vietnam Pepper Association to step by step further improve the sustainable pepper farming process to have pepper products that meet export requirements on the basis of The process of planting, caring, and harvesting pepper was issued;
3/- Piloting planning, granting certificates and codes of growing areas for some localities and enterprises to export safe pepper products: Assign the Plant Protection Department to coordinate with the Vietnam Pepper Association and a number of related units to pilot the granting of planting area codes for pepper for export, in the immediate future, select a number of localities with suitable land conditions. and apply sustainable farming practices.
