Currently, all Thai dairy products are exempt from ASEAN member countries, a benefit originating from ASEAN Trade Trade Agreement (ATIGA). High demand products include yogurt, oral yogurt, UHT sterilized milk and soy milk mixed with milk.
The local officials said that Thailand is still a large production and export country, with competitive prices supported by ASEAN Free Trade Agreements (FTA). The combination of high product quality and effective logistics has promoted continuous growth in ASEAN milk exports, with further expansion expectations.
Mr. Suchart emphasized that Thai businesses should take advantage of FTAs to penetrate deeper into the ASEAN dairy market.
