The Chinese market also increased by 21.3% in volume and 15% in turnover, reaching 44,878 tons, equivalent to 21.83 million USD; but compared to February 2021, it decreased sharply by 55.7% in volume, 59% in turnover and 7.9% in price.
In the first two months of 2022, the country’s rice exports reached 974,556 tons (a sharp increase of 48.6% compared to the first two months of 2021), earning nearly $469.26 million (up 30.6%). average price reached 481.5 USD/ton (down 12%). China ranked second with 81,884 tons, equivalent to 40.82 million USD, average price 498.5 USD/ton, plummeting 48.6% in volume, down 51.2% in turnover but down 5% in price compared with the same period in 2021; accounting for over 8% of the total volume and total turnover.
Ivory Coast market ranked third with 95,946 tons, equivalent to 38.02 million USD, priced at 396.3 USD/ton, up 205.7% in volume and 127.8 % in turnover but down 25.5% in value. price over the same period, accounting for 9.9% of the total volume and 8% of the total rice export turnover of the country.
