Last week, authorities in Beijing and China detected a new outbreak of Covid-19 related to the Xinfadi Agricultural Wholesale Market (Xinbei) in Beijing. According to the National Health Commission of China, by the end of June 15, 2020, the number of Covid-19 infections associated with the market had reached 79 cases. Beijing city authorities have taken samples to test and detect Sars-cov-2 virus on chopping boards at this market.
After the incident, the Beijing Municipal Government and many other Chinese localities conducted a general inspection and review of food safety, origin of agricultural products, meats and seafood ( including frozen, fresh and related preparations) in local agricultural and food markets. Households dealing in imported agricultural and aquatic products must produce a certificate of quarantine testing by China Customs.
The above situation may cause the Chinese authorities to further strengthen food safety inspection, supervision, quarantine testing, traceability … for imported goods, especially for agricultural products, meats, aquatic products (frozen, fresh and related products) at import ports / border gates to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. This may also affect the customs clearance of goods at border gates between Vietnam and China.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade respectfully announces and recommends businesses and households producing agricultural and aquatic products to be exported to China to enhance quality supervision and actively coordinate closely with import partners. strictly abide by Chinese regulations on quality standards, quarantine testing, food safety, traceability … for imported goods; thereby contributing to reducing risks and clearance time of goods at border gates.
