Specifically, at Tan Thanh border gate, a dedicated Vietnamese driver controls a fixed tractor to pull the container to a designated location at the Chinese side yard and then cut the container left behind; The Chinese side then connects the container and transports it for inspection, delivery and then takes the empty container to the designated place.
It is expected that each turn will pull 30-40 containers of goods to China; Customs clearance capacity is expected to reach 150-200 vehicles/day, 4-5 times higher than the old method.
“From March 16 to now, the volume of goods exported through this border gate regularly reaches over 70 vehicles per day, peaking on March 21, reaching 91 vehicles. This is a positive sign, showing the clear effectiveness of the new delivery method,” said Ms. Doan Thu Ha.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is also coordinating with associations and localities to organize training for enterprises on exporting agricultural products in general and exporting agricultural products to China in particular. Including the compilation of documents to guide enterprises to find markets and customers, things to note when participating in export activities, including official and minor quotas.
In this regard, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that previously, the Ministry had drafted and submitted to the Prime Minister a scheme on transferring border trade activities from small-traffic to official-quota. Simultaneously, the Ministry has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in promoting negotiations with China to increase the number of official export fruit products in the coming time.
Promoting consumption of agricultural products on digital platforms
Proactive in solutions to consuming agricultural products, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and localities where agricultural products are in season to support the connection between domestic product consumption and export.

Notably, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has assigned the Trade Promotion Department to develop a map of Vietnam’s agricultural products. Currently, the Prime Minister has approved the “Project on accelerating the application of information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion activities in the period of 2020 – 2030”, so in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to actively deploy digital applications and digital platforms in supporting and connecting the consumption of agricultural products of farmers.
