Specifically, black tiger shrimp of 10 – 15 pieces / kg is priced at 290,000 – 300,000 VND / kg, an increase of 20,000 VND / kg; Vannamei type 90 shrimp / kg is priced at 100,000 VND / kg, an increase of 10,000 VND / kg; Giant freshwater shrimp buy buckets of VND 130,000 / kg, an increase of VND 10,000 / kg; Blood cockle of 60 pieces / kg is priced at 70,000 VND / kg, an increase of 15,000 VND / kg.

Particularly sea crabs, farmers in Tra Vinh province at the beginning of the harvest and many traders focus on purchasing and supplying markets in the provinces and in Ho Chi Minh City. The price of crab meat grade 5-6 / kg from 150,000 to 160,000 VND / kg, crab meat type I (3 crab / kg) from 270,000 VND / kg, brick crab from 300,000 VND / kg, an average increase of 10,000 VND / kg.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhanh's family, Hamlet Hamlet, Long Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district thinly harvests 0.2 hectares of sea crab rearing for sale at the price of six crabs per kg of meat at VND 160,000 / kg.

According to Ms. Nhanh, with this crab price, the farmer has a profit of about 30 million VND / ha / crop. Ms. Nhanh predicts that in the next few days on April 30, crab prices will increase.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, owner of a seafood purchasing agent in Long Hoa commune, said that the COVID-19 outbreak was under control and that there has been no new case reported during the last half of the year in provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. Food chemistry in general, seafood in particular increased again.

Many buying agents in Ho Chi Minh City from the previous week ordered to buy a variety of seafood, with higher prices, helping farmers reduce output constraints.

For many years, farmers in coastal areas in Tra Vinh province have chosen crabs as the main adoption to replace 1-2 shrimp farming, to limit the risk of 3-year shrimp farming in a year.

On average, each year, Tra Vinh has an area of ​​13,000 hectares of mud crab farming; in which, about 35% of intensive farming area, productivity reaches from 0.8 to 1.2 tons / ha. The total output of commercially harvested crabs in the province is over 1,400 tons / year, the profit of intensive crab farming is from VND 100 – 120 million / ha / year.
