Update world pepper prices
The world pepper market last week recorded mixed reactions. In the domestic market, Malabar black pepper saw a 3% deficit, down to 5,166 USD / ton. The reason may be due to the weakening rupee against the US dollar.
Indonesia’s black and white pepper prices decreased by 1% and 4% respectively, currently at US $ 3,144 / ton and US $ 6,015 / ton. The drop in pepper prices in this country is partly due to the 1% drop in rupiah value against the dollar. At the same time, Bangka province is now dominated by pepper speculators.
In the opposite direction, in Malaysia, black and white pepper were purchased for $ 2,979 / ton and $ 4,387 / ton respectively, recording an increase of 5% and 3%, respectively.
According to the International Pepper CommunityDuring the past week, only Chinese white pepper did not appear to have new fluctuations, continuing to be traded at the old prices.
