Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Director of the cooperative, said that the cooperative’s pepper is purchased at a price higher than the market price of 3,000 VND/1kg. Particularly, 15 hectares of certified organic pepper are always purchased at a higher price than the market price. market 25%.
According to Ms. Nga: “Currently, pepper prices are going up, people are very happy and excited. Last year the price was 68,000-70,000 VND/kg, this year it has increased from 92,000-95,000 VND/kg. Currently, people are taking care of their gardens, harvesting, fertilizing and replanting the remaining pepper gardens. Hopefully the price of pepper and agricultural products of all kinds will increase so that people can have more expenses, income, improve their lives, and feel secure in farming.”
Gia Lai province has 8,800 hectares of pepper in the business stage, the output of this crop is estimated at about 30,000 tons. After many years of “dancing” prices, making farmers cry and laugh along with the pepper tree, this year the price of pepper exceeded the mark of 90,000 VND/kg, a great reward for those who persevere with this crop.
