In Gia Lai, today’s pepper price was purchased by traders at 63,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg. In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, today’s pepper price was purchased at 64,500 VND/kg.

In Ba Ria Vung Tau, pepper is being purchased by traders at 66,500 VND/kg. In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, it remained stable at 65,500 VND/kg.

After many days of a quiet market, today’s pepper prices have increased and the market is vibrant again thanks to increased demand from importing countries.

On the world market, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 3,540 USD/ton, Muntok white pepper at 6,002 USD/ton, Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 2,950 USD/ton. , Kuching (Malaysia) black pepper ASTA remained at 4,900 USD/ton, Malaysian white pepper ASTA remained at 7,300 USD/ton.

Vietnam black pepper price is trading at 3,225 USD/ton with 500 g/l type, 550g/l type at 3,275 USD/ton; White pepper price is at 4,780 USD/ton.

According to statistics, pepper exports in March 2023 reached 35,474 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 7,736 tons, an increase of 27.62% over the previous month and an increase of 12,661 tons, an increase of 54.84% over the same period. last year.

The value of export turnover in the month reached 106.47 million USD, an increase of 22.28 million USD, or an increase of 26.47% over the previous month, and a decrease of 2.82 million USD, or a decrease of 2.58% over the same period. last year.

The cumulative export volume of pepper in the first 3 months of 2023 reached a total of 76,193 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 23,074 tons, or an increase of 43.44% compared to the export volume in the first 3 months of 2022.

Regarding the value of export turnover in the first 3 months of 2023, it reached a total of 233.45 million USD, down 14.94 million USD, or down 6.02% over the same period.

Looking at prices, the average export price of pepper in March 2023 reached 2,978 USD/ton, down 0.90% compared to the average export price of February 2023.

It is forecast that Vietnam’s pepper export activities will become more vibrant in the second quarter of 2023 thanks to increased demand from the markets of China, Papua New Guinea, ASEAN, Turkey…, offsetting for the still sluggish import demand of the US and EU markets.
