According to the International Trade Center, Vietnam is the largest pepper supplier to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2019 with an import growth of 31.7% in volume compared to the same period in 2018.
The average import price of Dutch pepper from Vietnam in the first 7 months of this year reached 3,497 USD / ton, down 27.4% compared to the first 7 months of 2018. Vietnam's pepper market share in total import volume Dutch imports increased from 39.4% in the first 7 months of 2018, to 48.1% in the first 7 months of this year.
Brazil is the second largest pepper supply for the Netherlands in the first 7 months of 2019, the import amount reached 2,543 tons, worth US $ 6.35 million, up 16.4% in volume, but down 17% in value compared to with the first 7 months of 2018.
Brazil's pepper market share in total Dutch imports increased from 24.4% in the first 7 months of 2018, to 26.3% in the first 7 months of this year. Currently, the Netherlands is importing a whole class of ground pepper (HS 090411) from Brazil with an average import price of 2,499 USD / ton.

The price of robusta coffee delivered in January 2020 increased by 0.2% to 1,381 USD / ton. Price of arabica coffee delivered in December decreased 0.3% to 109 UScent / pound.
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), world coffee production in the 2018-2019 crop is estimated at about 169 million bags, 5.4% higher than last year.
Robusta production increased by 11% to 70.67 million bags, arabica production increased by 1.7% to 98.33 million bags due to the decline from Honduras, Mexico and Peru offsetting the increase from Brazil.
Brazil not only increased arabica output but robusta output also expanded for the second year in a row following the recession in 2016 – 2017. This increase has led to the growth in South American coffee production with volume increased by 8.1% to 80.69 million bags this year.
Coffee production in Central America and Mexico decreased by 1.7% to 21.35 million bags. However, production in Africa, Asia & Oceania increased by 5.3% to 18.30 million bags and 4.4% to 48.66 million bags, respectively.
