The reason is for many Vietnamese exporters to sell off their goods to increase the capital turnover cycle and reduce the burden of loan interest rates.

Indonesia and Brazil will enter the harvest from the end of June to the end of August. Reuters news agency said that this year, Indonesia has suffered a severe crop failure, and production is expected to decrease from 30,000 tons last year to only 10,000 tons. Brazil also fell to 30,000 tons from 40,000 tons last year.
According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), this year, Indonesia’s pepper production will only reach 37,000 tons, down 15,000 tons, equivalent to a decrease of 28.8% compared to 2010, due to heavy rains in the states of Lampung, Bangka and southern Sumatra, the main pepper growing regions of the country. It is expected that this year’s export will only reach 23,000 tons of pepper of all kinds, down 47.7% compared to 2010.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian Pepper Committee said that this country’s pepper output in 2011 will reach 35,000 tons, up 1,000 tons compared to 2010. The committee also expects this year’s export to reach only 30,000 tons of pepper of all kinds. , down 11.8% compared to 2010. Export volume decreased slightly due to increased domestic consumption.
According to the Customs statistics report, in the first four months of the year, our country exported 41,247 tons of pepper of all kinds, reaching a turnover of 210,920 million USD, decreasing by 7.1% in volume but increasing in price by 55. 8% over the same period last year.
According to the latest data of the General Statistics Office, pepper export in May is estimated at 15,000 tons, with an estimated turnover of 87 million USD, bringing the export volume of pepper in the first 5 months to 56,000 tons with export value. imports 297 million USD, down 5.6% in volume but up 61.2% in value over the same period last year.
Currently, the export price of Vietnam’s black pepper grade 500 Gr/l FAQ is $5,200/ton, 550 Gr/l FAQ is $5,500, white pepper D/W 630 Gr/l is $7,800/ton, on average. $100/ton lower for each grade compared to last week’s price.
It is predicted that from now until the end of June, whether pepper prices will increase or decrease is not an easy question to answer, especially before the pressure of capital.
