Pepper price today 4/6/2023: Up to 1,500 VND/kg in the past week

Pepper prices today (June 4) ranged from 72,500 to 75,500 VND/kg. In the past 6 days, the pepper market tended to go up. Compared to the beginning of the week, the key provinces recorded an increase of 1,000-1,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price This week in general tends to increase then move sideways at the end of the week. Compared to the beginning of the week, the purchase price in key provinces increased from 1,000 VND/kg to 1,500 VND/kg.

According to the survey, the lowest price currently at 72,500 VND/kg was recorded in Gia Lai province, up 1,000 VND/kg. Next is Dong Nai with 73,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,500 VND/kg.

After increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, the two provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong are purchasing pepper at the same rate of 74,000 VND/kg.

Similar, pepper price in Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria – Vung Tau together increased by 1,500 VND/kg, to 75,000 VND/kg and 75,500 VND/kg respectively.

Update pepper information

According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in April, domestic enterprises have import 2,370 tons of pepper from other producing countries, down 36.2% from the previous month.

Accumulated in the first 4 months of the year, Vietnam imported 10,184 tons of pepper, down 15.9% (equivalent to 1,921 tons) over the same period last year. In which, black pepper reached 9,404 tons, white pepper reached 780 tons.

As noted, Brazil is the largest pepper supplier to Vietnam with 6,417 tons, up 63.9% over the same period and accounting for 63% of the market share.

Meanwhile, Vietnam’s pepper imports from Cambodia and Indonesia decreased by 63.6% and 34.1%, respectively, equivalent to 1,715 tons and 1,222 tons.

The survey showed that the leading pepper importer in the past 4 months was still Olam Company with 3,982 tons, accounting for 39.1% of the market share, but compared to the same period last month, it decreased by 16.4%. Followed by Pearl Company with an import of 1,575 tons, up 57.7%; Nedspice with 1,396 tons, up 283.5%…
