Pepper prices today (January 9) ranged from 78,500 to 81,000 VND/kg. In the past 6 days, the pepper market tended to go down. Provinces and cities recorded a decrease of 500 – 1,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of the week.
Pepper price This week, in general, there is a downward trend in key provinces in the country. Compared to the beginning of the week, the purchasing price decreased by 500 – 1,000 VND/kg.
In which, the lowest price is 78,500 VND/kg in Dong Nai province, down 1,000 VND/kg. Better is Gia Lai province with 79,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg.
Currently, the three provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc together buy pepper at the mark of 80,000 VND/kg. In which, Binh Phuoc reduced 1,000 VND/kg, the rest decreased 500 VND/kg.
Similarly, the transaction price in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 81,000 VND/kg this week.

In December 2021, the export price of black pepper dropped sharply in most of the producing countries, was stable in Malaysia, and increased in Vietnam for the 550g/l black pepper variety. Export prices of white pepper decreased in Indonesia and Vietnam, but increased in Malaysia, according to a report from Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade).
In Brazil, on December 28, 2021, the export price of black pepper dropped sharply by $300/ton compared to November 30, 2021, to $4,100/ton.
In India, the export price of black pepper decreased by US$277/ton from November 30, 2021, to US$7,286/ton.
At Lampung ASTA port, Indonesia, on December 28, 2021, export prices of black pepper and white pepper decreased by $94/ton and $74/ton, respectively, compared with November 30, 2021, to $4,415/ton. tons and 7,360 USD/ton.
