Pepper prices today (October 31) have not had any new fluctuations, currently recorded in the range of 66,000 – 69,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices

According to the survey, pepper price anchored in the range of 66,000 – 69,000 VND/kg in key provinces in the country.

Accordingly, the prices recorded in Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces are 66,000 VND/kg and 67,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Pepper in Dak Lak and Dak Nong is being purchased at the same price of 67,500 VND/kg.

Similar, Pepper price today in Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria – Vung Tau were stable at 68,500 VND/kg and 69,000 VND/kg, respectively.

According to an update from the International Pepper Association (IPC) on October 30 (local time), the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) decreased by 1.62% compared to October 27.

At the same time, the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 and Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper remained stable.

At the same time of the survey, the price of Muntok white pepper 1% off compared to the previous session, while Malaysian ASTA white pepper prices had no new adjustments.

In the third quarter of this year, a total of 53,359 tons of pepper were exported by Vietnam with a value of 199.3 million USD, an increase of 4.7% in volume but a decrease of 5.4% compared to the third quarter of last year.

Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year, pepper exports reached 206,037 tons, an increase of 18.1% (equivalent to 31,529 tons) compared to the same period last year.

However, due to falling pepper prices, export turnover only reached 682.5 million USD, down 11.4% (88 million USD) compared to the same period in 2022.

In September, Vietnam’s pepper export price reached an average of 3,728 USD/ton, down 0.4% compared to August and down 9.3% over the same period.

Overall for 9 months, pepper export prices reached an average of 3,312 USD/ton, down 25% compared to the same period in 2022.

In terms of types, exports of most types of pepper decreased in the first 9 months of this year, except for whole pepper, which increased by 27.7% to 162,091 tons and accounted for 79.3% of the proportion.

The remaining ground black pepper decreased by 18% and accounted for 9.8% of the density; Whole white pepper decreased by 8.4% and accounted for 7.6% of the proportion; Ground white pepper and pepper soaked in vinegar, wood, pinhead, green, pink… decreased by 28% and 6.4%.
