Pepper prices are entering a new increasing cycle. Besides the weather factor, the driving force for price increases mainly comes from the fact that in recent times, many farmers in Vietnam as well as in other major pepper producing countries have switched to other crops with high economic efficiency. more, causing a supply shortage.
At the present time, the increase in pepper prices is also driven by the shortage of empty containers, causing shipping rates to increase by an average of about 30% in recent weeks.
Experts also said that Vietnam’s domestic and export pepper prices are entering a new price increase in the context that the harvest has ended but demand is increasing positively. Expectations that the USD will decrease and transport costs are influencing prices will cause agricultural products, including pepper, to increase sharply.
