Pepper market on December 17, 2023: The market continued to increase over the past week

Pepper prices today (December 17) fluctuate between 78,000 – 80,500 VND/kg. Last week, the pepper market tended to go up. Compared to the beginning of the week, key provinces recorded an increase from 3,000 VND/kg to 4,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price This week continues the upward streak in the domestic market. Compared to the beginning of the week, purchasing prices in key provinces increased sharply by 3,000 – 4,500 VND/kg.

According to the survey, the lowest price is currently 78,000 VND/kg recorded in Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces, increasing by 3,000 VND/kg and 3,500 VND/kg respectively.

After an increase of 3,000 VND/kg, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is now purchasing pepper at a price of 80,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, pepper prices in two provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc province increased by 4,500 VND/kg and 3,500 VND/kg, respectively, to 80,500 VND/kg.

According to the latest report of Department of Import and Export (Ministry of Industry and Trade)In November 2023, the average export price of Vietnam’s pepper reached 3,839 USD/ton, up 1.8% compared to October 2023 and up 3.8% compared to November 2022.

In the first 11 months of 2023, the average export price of Vietnam’s pepper reached 3,392 USD/ton, down 21.3% over the same period in 2022.

Also in November this year, pepper exports to most traditional and potential markets increased compared to the same period last year, except the Netherlands and Russia.

Notably, Vietnam’s pepper export rate to a number of markets recorded a high level, increasing by 2 to 3 digits, including: the US, India, Korea, UK…

In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam’s pepper exports to the Indian, Philippine, and Thai markets… increased compared to the same period last year. On the contrary, pepper exports to the US, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, Korea, UK… markets decreased.
