According to an update from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper price was listed at 6,892 USD/ton, down 0.3% ($47/ton) compared to with the previous trading session.
The price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 also decreased by 50 USD/ton, to 6,700 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, Kuching Malaysia black pepper price was flat at 8,900 USD/ton.
In Vietnam, the asking price of black pepper 500 g/l and 550 g/l remained stable between 6,800 USD/ton and 7,100 USD/ton.

According to a recent report from IPC, after 2 weeks of price increases, domestic pepper prices and export India is stable in the week of September 23 to September 27.
In Indonesia, the price of Indonesian black pepper decreased, while the price of white pepper continued to increase since last week. Currently, most farmers in Lampung province have completed the harvest.
IPC also said that Malaysia’s black pepper export price was stable last week. And in Sri Lanka, after 3 consecutive weeks of increases, Sri Lankan domestic pepper prices are quite stable.
In Vietnam, domestic pepper prices recorded a decrease last week. Meanwhile, export prices are stable and do not change.
In other countries, Brazilian black pepper prices have continued to decrease since last week. Meanwhile, Cambodian black pepper prices remained stable. Furthermore, Chinese white pepper prices increased this week.
IPC cited data from the International Trade Center (ITC) saying, import Thai pepper in the first 7 months of the year reached 4,476 tons, up 19% over the same period last year. Of which, 80% is whole pepper and 20% is ground pepper.
Thailand’s imported pepper price in the first 7 months of the year reached an average of 5,848 USD/ton, up from 4,538 USD/ton last year.
Vietnam is still the largest pepper supplier to Thailand with a volume of 3,673 tons, accounting for 82% of the country’s total pepper imports. This number also exceeds the next largest supply markets such as Indonesia (716 tons), Malaysia (61 tons)…
