The Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that according to statistics from the Ministry of Trade of India, the country's pepper imports in the first 10 months of 2019 reached 25,274 tons, worth nearly 80 million USD, an increase of 19.4% in volume, but down 33% in value compared to the first 10 months of 2018.
The average import price of Indian pepper in the first 10 months of 2019 was at 3,157 USD / ton, down 43.9% over the same period in 2018.
In particular, the average import price of Indian pepper from Vietnam reached 2,438 USD / ton, down 43.7%.

Market share of Indonesian pepper in total Indian imports increased from 11.6% in the first 10 months of 2018, to 18.8% in the first 10 months of 2019.
