Compared to the same period in 2022, export volume increased by 15.3%, equivalent to 27,164 tons, however export turnover decreased by 13.4%, equivalent to a decrease of 104.5 million USD.
Of which, the Chinese market is the leader with 55,985 tons, accounting for 27.4% of the market share and increasing by 373.6% over the same period.

The top 4 enterprises account for about 25% of Vietnam’s pepper export output in the first 9 months of 2023
Among them, the top two enterprises exporting pepper in the past month: Nedspice and Olam Vietnam are both FDI enterprises.
Nedspice Vietnam Spice Processing Company Limited is a 100% Dutch-owned company belonging to Nedspice Spice Processing Group – one of the world’s leading spice manufacturing groups. Nedspice Vietnam was established in 1997 and has two processing factories in Vietnam.
A factory in Binh Duong has a capacity of 24,000 tons/year and about 450 employees. In addition, Nedspice built a raw material warehouse with a capacity of 12,000 tons with about 90 employees in Binh Phuoc.
At the end of 2020, this warehouse was upgraded into Nedspice’s second factory in Vietnam with a capacity of about 25,000 tons of whole pepper per year.
Olam Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a 100% foreign-invested company belonging to International Olam Group.
According to the introduction on hr.asia, the company began operating in Vietnam in 1997, with headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City and regional offices in Binh Dinh, Long An, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Yen Bai and Gia Lai.
Olam is one of the largest exporters of cashew nuts, pepper and instant coffee and green coffee in Vietnam.
In addition, Olam Vietnam is also one of the leading rice buying companies in the country. Olam Vietnam currently operates 9 agricultural processing factories throughout the Central and Southern regions and has a cooperation network with about 2 million farmers.
With the remaining two enterprises, Tran Chau Group Joint Stock Company was established in 2006. According to the introduction, the company’s annual pepper export output is from 25,000 to 28,000 tons.
Currently, the company’s export market has expanded to more than 100 countries across continents, conquering most difficult markets such as Europe, the United States, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group is Mr. Phan Thanh Tinh (born 1954) and the General Director is Mr. Nguyen Tan Hien (born 1975). Mr. Nguyen Tan Hien is also Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Pepper Association.
Tran Chau’s strong export products are white pepper, black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, anise, chili and vegetables.
From 2017 to 2021, Tran Chau has expanded to build additional cinnamon and star anise processing factories in Hanoi and Quang Nam, supplying the market with an average of 4,000 tons/year.
In 2018, Tran Chau initially implemented the model of growing cinnamon trees for export according to organic standards and planted 70 hectares of cinnamon in two areas, Tam My Tay commune, Nui Thanh district and Tien Lanh commune, Tien Phuoc district, province. Phuc Sinh’s products are exported to more than 120 countries around the world: France, Germany, Italy, America, Russia, Middle East, Australia, Asia… In addition to pepper, Phuc Sinh is also a large coffee export company. .
In particular, the establishment of Phuc Sinh Coffee, Phuc Sinh Dak Lak and Phuc Sinh Son La is part of the company’s strategy to expand into the coffee field.
Specifically, Phuc Sinh Dak Lak is known as the investor of the Pepper and Coffee Factory project with a capacity of 10 tons of green pepper/month, 75 tons of green coffee/month, 20 tons of flat pepper/month; Phuc Sinh Son La owns Phuc Sinh Son La Factory with a total scale of 45 hectares, phase I with investment capital of over 100 billion VND (operating since November 2018), productivity of 20,000 tons of fresh coffee/year.
In addition, Phuc Sinh Consumer develops in the F&B and retail segments in the Vietnamese domestic market. Phuc Sinh Consumer owns a system of K Coffee cafes with prime locations in central districts of Ho Chi Minh City.
As of August 2018, Chairman Phan Minh Thong is the major controlling shareholder, holding 70% of Phuc Sinh’s capital along with two other individuals, Mr. Nguyen Trong Phuc (10%) and Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung (10%) and Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung (10%). 20%).
