According to the preliminary data report of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in October 2022 reached 17,596 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 3,732 tons, ie an increase of 26.92% compared to the previous month and an increase of 938 tons, ie an increase of 5.63% over the same period last year.

The export turnover in the month reached 66.59 million USD, up 9.76 million USD, or 17.19% higher than the previous month and down 5.14 million USD, or 7.65% decrease over the same period last year. last year.

The cumulative export volume of pepper in the first 10 months of 2022 reached a total of 192,076 tons of pepper of all kinds, down 37,509 tons, or 16.34% lower than the export volume of the first 10 months of 2021.

In terms of export turnover in the first 10 months of 2022, a total of 836.94 million USD, up 45.79 million USD, or 5.79% increase over the same period.

The average export price of pepper in October 2022 reached 3,785 USD/ton, down 7.66% compared to the average export price of September 2022.

Expectations that China and traditional markets will soon return to buying for winter consumption and the upcoming 2023 New Year will support prices, while speculation that the new crop will start to harvest when the end of this year’s coffee crop in the Central Highlands and the Southeast region continued to decline by more than 10% compared to the previous crop because many farmers drastically cut down the area of ​​pepper or intercropped with many other crops, especially durian trees are having attractive prices.
