According to preliminary data reported by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in December 2019 reached 16,603 tons of pepper of all kinds, down 413 tons, or 2.43 percent less than the previous month and up 4,027 tons. , ie up to 32.02% over the same period last year.

The export value of pepper in the month reached 40.1 million USD, up 0.06 million USD, or 0.16% compared to the previous month, but decreased by 0.49 million USD, or 1.22% compared to the previous month. with the same period last year.

The average export price of pepper in December 2019 reached $2,416/ton, up 2.63% compared to the average export price of November 2019.

In terms of volume, exports for the whole year of 2019 reached a total of 283,836 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 51,067 tons, which is an increase of 21.94% compared to the whole export volume of 2018.

However, in terms of export turnover for the whole year, 2019 only reached a total of 714.14 million USD, down 44.74 million USD, or 5.90% lower than the whole export value of 2018.

Thus, the volume of pepper exported by Vietnam in 2019 has set a historical record.
