According to preliminary data reported by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in December 2020 reached 20,742 tons of all kinds of pepper, down 2,188 tons, or 9.54% lower than the previous month but increased by 4,079 tons, ie an increase of 24.48% over the same period last year.
The export value of pepper in the month reached 57.40 million USD, down 3.09 million USD, or 5.10 percent lower than the previous month, but increased by 17.24 million USD, or 42.93 percent higher than the previous month. with the same period last year.
The cumulative export volume of pepper for the whole year of 2020 reached a total of 285,292 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 1,002 tons, which is an increase of 0.35% compared to the whole export volume of 2019. However, the export value of both 2020 reached a total of 660.57 million USD, down 53.58 million USD, or 7.50% decrease compared to the whole export turnover in 2019.
The average export price of pepper in December 2020 reached $2,767/ton, up 4.89% compared to the average export price of the previous month and the average export price for the whole year in 2020 reached $2,315/ton, down 7.7%. 84% of the average export price in 2019.
