Vietnam had a trade surplus of 3 billion USD of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first quarter of 2022.

In the first quarter of 2022, many products achieved higher export value than the same period last year, such as: rubber, tea, rice, pepper, cassava; products from cassava, pangasius, shrimp, wood and wood products. For example: Coffee export value reached about 1.2 billion USD (up 50.4%); pepper about 252 million USD (up 40.8%); cassava and cassava products reached USD 420 million (up 15.5%), pangasius reached USD 606 million (up 82.0%), shrimp reached USD 929 million (up 39.7%); rattan, bamboo and sedge mats reached USD 265 million (up 34.4%).

Generally in the first quarter, the import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at nearly US$9.8 billion, down 3.5% over the same period in 2021. Implement and update the software system to data supply and demand for agricultural products from the locality. Continue to remove difficulties in consumption and export of agricultural products in key agricultural production localities and at main border gates with China. Prepare to organize trade delegations, promote the supply chain of fruits and seafood in China.

Along with that, promoting the opening of agricultural product markets with other countries; promptly provide information, market regulations, import and export control between Vietnam and China. Prepare content for bilateral work with UK, Germany, France, Spain, Korea. At the same time, develop a project to promote the export of agro-forestry-fishery products to the EU, the United States, China, and Japan.
