At this morning's meeting (June 8), the National Assembly passed the Resolution approving the EVFTA and EVIPA Agreements, two important documents in the integration process, to closely link the relationship between Vietnam and the Union. Europe.

Specifically, 457 delegates voted, equivalent to 94.62% of the total number of parliamentarians, all agreeing the adoption of the Resolution on ratifying the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union. Europe (EVFTA).

Regarding the resolution approving the Investment Protection Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union and its member countries (EVIPA), 462 delegates participated in the vote, equivalent to 95.65% of the total number of deputies. 461 delegates agreed to approve, equivalent to 95.45%.

The signed EVFTA Free Trade Agreement and the EVIPA Investment Protection Agreement will open a new horizon for greater and comprehensive cooperation and stronger development of Vietnam and the EU, meeting the needs of the people. , businesses on both sides.

Earlier, in 2012, Vietnam and the EU signed a Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (PCA) which is an important political and external cooperation framework and now signed two EVFTA trade agreements and EVIPA investments. New-generation free trade agreements with high standards, comprehensiveness, large openness and balance of benefits.

Speaking at the signing of the previous agreement, the Prime Minister emphasized: “These two important agreements will be like a modern large-scale highway connecting closer to the EU and Vietnam and from here people on both sides. easy cooperation, exchanges, businesses on both sides can easily access each other's markets.

Especially, EU enterprises can access not only the market of nearly 100 million Vietnamese people but also the markets of ASEAN countries, CPTPP and other big markets in East Asia, contributing to the impetus of Eastern cooperation. – The West brings prosperity to the development of Asia – Europe and the world ”.

The Prime Minister also stated that the signing of the EVFTA and EVIPA Agreements today is just the beginning, the two sides need to cooperate efforts for the successful deployment of cooperation. Vietnam will issue a “National Action Plan” to implement the two Agreements with specific tasks and measures of serious and full implementation of commitments and extensive implementation to ministries, agencies and localities. localities, organizations, businesses and people, in association with promoting the dynamism and creativity in the implementation process towards the goal of building a stronger and more powerful country of Vietnam.
