Taking Ms. Nhung’s question to Mr. Bach Khanh Nhut, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), the reporter learned that cashew nuts exported abroad are required to meet common criteria and standards. “The price and quality disorder of cashew nuts in the domestic market has been mentioned at a number of specialized conferences, but so far nothing has changed” – Mr. Nhut reflected.
According to Mr. Nhut, manufacturers currently self-register and self-announce product quality standards according to state regulations and sell products to the market. Prices vary depending on many factors, buyers will choose affordable products depending on their needs and level of payment.
Some cashew nut production facilities in Binh Phuoc province said that on the market, most are selling cashew nuts from Cambodia and Indonesia under the labels “Binh Phuoc cashew nuts”, “Binh Phuoc old cashew nuts”.

“Binh Phuoc cashews have a very small output, have a higher sweetness and fat than Cambodian and Indonesian cashews, so the price is higher. Most establishments import Cambodian cashews for processing and packaging in Binh Phuoc and sell under the brand name Binh Phuoc cashew nuts” – a facility specializing in producing cashew nuts for the domestic market explained.
According to this basis, the difference in cashew nut prices on the market depends on the product packaging: zip packaging will retain 100% of the weight, so the price is higher; When packing a round box of mica, depending on the weight of the box (some boxes weigh up to 200-250gr), the amount of seeds inside is more or less, and the price will vary. In addition, the selling price also depends on whether the product is padded with flat seeds, broken seeds… or not.
“Consumers should choose to buy products from supermarkets, stores or reputable addresses that can guarantee and handle all feedback on quality” – the owner of this facility said.
