In 2019, black pepper production in Sri Lanka will reach 26,000 tons and white pepper production is estimated at 700 tons, so the total output this year is expected to reach 26,700 tons, recording an increase of 44% compared to with estimates for 2018.
Pepper production in Malaysia is expected to increase from the previous year. In 2019, Malaysia is expected to produce 17,872 tons of black pepper and 6,128 tons of white pepper, so the total pepper output is estimated to be 24,000 tons. Regarding pepper exports in 2019, Vietnam continues to lead the world with a forecast to export 215,000 tons.
