In order to support businesses in market survey, seek trade connection opportunities, and promote the export of Vietnamese goods to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Asian Market Department – Africa) plans to organize a working delegation in the UAE from June 3 to 7, 2024. Through the working delegation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to deploy trade activities between businesses of the two countries, promoting exporting Vietnamese goods to the UAE, surveying the market and researching cooperation possibilities in the fields of agricultural products, fisheries, pharmaceuticals… in the UAE.
The UAE is the leading developed economy in the Middle East and in the world. The UAE, in addition to being a re-export center, is also a market with large purchasing power and high payment ability. In trade relations between Vietnam and the Middle East, the UAE is the second largest trade partner and Vietnam’s largest export market in this region. According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in the period 2018-2023, bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and the UAE is maintained at 5-5.3 billion USD/year. In 2023, trade exchange between Vietnam and the UAE will reach 4.7 billion USD, of which Vietnam’s export turnover to the UAE will reach 4 billion USD and Vietnam’s import turnover from the UAE will reach 670 million USD.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade respectfully invites businesses to send representatives to join the above working group with specific information as follows:
1. Work location: UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi).
2. Time: from June 3 to June 7, 2024 (including travel time).
3. Expected program: Please send attached.
4. Funding: Working expenses of representatives of Agencies/Associations/Enterprises are paid by the sending unit.
