The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in February 2023 was estimated at 3.4 billion USD, down 8% compared to January due to the impact of global inflation and weak consumer demand.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first two months of 2023, the total import-export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at 12 billion USD, down 17% compared to the same period in 2022.
In which, exports were about 6.3 billion USD, down 22.5% over the same period last year; import is estimated at 5.7 billion USD, down 9.5%. The agricultural trade balance had a trade surplus of USD 559 million, down 68.5% over the same period in 2022.
In February 2023 alone, export turnover agriculture, forestry and fishery is estimated at 3.4 billion USD, down 8% compared to January but up 6% over the same period in 2022.

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said in the first 2 months of 2023, China is the largest export market, reaching nearly 1.3 billion USD, accounting for 20.2% market share; ranked second is the US market with about 1.2 billion USD, accounting for 19% market share; the third is the Japanese market with over 563 million USD, accounting for 9% and the 4th is the Korean market with 302 million USD, accounting for 4.8%.
In order to promote the consumption of agricultural products in the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will promote market development, focusing on removing barriers, creating favorable conditions for domestic consumption and export.
Take advantage of FTAs, especially the CPTPP and EVFTA Agreements to promote the export of key agricultural, forestry and fishery products. At the same time, continue to coordinate to support the protection of trademarks and geographical indications for potential export products of Vietnam abroad.
