Accordingly, accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of September 15, 2019, the export of fruits and vegetables reached 2.67 billion USD, down 6% compared to the same period 2018.
China is Vietnam's largest export market for fruits and vegetables in the first 8 months of 2019. However, the export turnover is only US $ 1.75 billion, down by 13% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, exports of fruits and vegetables to markets such as the US, South Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia in the first 8 months of 2019 increased sharply compared to the same period in 2018.

Vietnam mangoes promise to increase the proportion in the US in the near future
According to statistics from the US International Trade Commission, imported fruit group code HS 080450 including guava, mango, mangosteen of the United States in the first 7 months of 2019 reached more than 344,000 tons, worth nearly 371 million. The average import unit price of fruit group HS code 080405 in the first 7 months of 2019 was at 1,077.4 USD / ton, down 2.5% over the same period period 2018.
In the fruit group code HS 080450, Vietnam has just been allowed to import mangoes into the US market from February 18, 2019.
Accordingly, by the end of July 2019, the amount of mango imported from Vietnam by the US reached 136 tons, accounting for 0.1% of the total import of guava, mango and mangosteen US.
The National Mango Council said that due to limited production, the demand for US mango imports from 2015 to present has continued to increase.
American mangoes are mainly grown in Florida and Hawaii, and small amounts in California and Texas. Currently US mango production reaches about 3,000 tons per year, only 1% of the annual import.
Import and Export Department said that this is an opportunity for Vietnam's fruit industry to exploit the US mango market because of the great market demand.
