Police discovered many businesses in Dak Lak dipping durian in drugs of unknown origin; Use the growing area code and packaging code of other localities to paste on Dak Lak durian.
Dak Lak Provincial Police has just had information related to the inspection and handling of violations during the durian crop.
Accordingly, in the 2024 durian crop, the Police Department investigating crimes on corruption, economics, smuggling, and the environment of Dak Lak Provincial Police inspected and fined 4 violating businesses.
Specifically, these businesses dipped durian in a mixing solution of unknown origin, labels with foreign words, and no additional labels in Vietnamese. The total fine is 237 million VND.
According to the police, businesses use substances of unknown origin to dip durian which may be banned substances or substances not on the list of substances allowed for use in food processing and production. This can affect consumers’ health.
The subjects often dip durian at night, close the warehouse, and the perpetrators are often acquaintances of the business owner in order to cope with detection and handling by the authorities.
In addition, the police also discovered that the above businesses had used the growing area code and packaging code of localities other than Dak Lak province to paste on durian boxes. The number of counterfeit stamps and labels torn off was 2,859 stamps and labels.
