The working group is responsible for inspecting the compliance with regulations on listing prices, surcharges in addition to the prescribed cost of shipping container goods by sea, and listing of surcharges in addition to freight charges. container by sea, service charge at seaport.
At the same time, the inter-ministerial working group has the function of handling violations according to the regulations on sanctioning of administrative violations in the maritime domain.
Previously, from the end of 2020, the rental price for empty containers continued to increase, from an initial level of less than $ 1,000 / container / 40 feet, up to $ 8,000-10,000 / container / 40 feet. The reason given by shipping lines is the lack of empty containers due to the difference in the import and export of goods during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Facing this situation, the Government has requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with relevant agencies, associations and enterprises to take measures to remove difficulties for goods export activities.
