Information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Long An province, durian is one of the crops that brings high economic value. Right from the beginning of 2024, off-season durian gardeners in the province were excited when the selling price at the garden was high. With the current price of durian, according to calculations by gardeners, even though they have to invest heavily to handle off-season fruit, the profit is up to 1 billion VND/ha.

Currently, Monthong durian type 1 is priced from 190,000-202,000 VND/kg, type 2 is about 175,000 VND/kg. Ri6 durian type 1 costs 120,000-126,000 VND/kg, type 2 costs 100,000 VND/kg.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh (Tan Lap commune, Tan Thanh district) said: “Currently, Ri6 durian is purchased by traders at the garden at a price of about 100,000-120,000 VND/kg. Durian prices increase because it is in the off-season, so supply is reduced. Currently, my garden doesn’t have much left because it was harvested twice before Tet.”
