Mr. Nguyen Duc Thao said, currently, the cooperative has signed a consumption contract with Nedspice Spices Limited Liability Company (Netherlands). Accordingly, producing clean pepper for export is bound by many strict conditions.
Specifically, members of farmer households participating in the cooperative’s production chain must adhere to proper care techniques from the stage of fertilizing and spraying with the right dose.
Limit the use of chemical fertilizers to ensure that the harvested products are free from chemical and pesticide residues and other regulations.
As a result, households participating in the clean production chain will be sold by the exporter at a price higher than the market price.
In addition, the unit that signed the purchase and export contract also supports and rewards farmers who meet the standard of clean pepper products at 4,500 VND/kg.
The Hung Phuoc new-style cooperative for sustainable pepper production in Hung Phuoc commune, Bu Dop district has 80 members, mostly farmers, who have joined the cooperative with the process of producing clean pepper for export.
Accordingly, members of the cooperative participating in the Club of clean and sustainable pepper production are not only rewarded with a general unit price of 45,000 VND/kg, the exporter also supports an additional 2,000 VND/kg.
Dao Duy Hai, Director of Dong Thuan Organic Pepper Cooperative, Village 6, Nhan Co Commune, Dak R’lap District, Dak Nong Province, said that with an area of about 55 hectares of organic pepper, the output is over 50 tons of clean pepper products, which can meet the strictest standards of the world market.
Organic pepper products of the cooperative are always ordered by purchasing units and have a selling price twice as high as the price of bucket pepper in the market. Currently, the cooperative’s products have been exported directly to the Netherlands.
