Many areas are harvested, but longan is ripe and rotten.
Facing the situation that the longan fruit of Chau Thanh district has not been sold, Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee has just had a working session with Chau Thanh district leaders to find the outlet for the longan. Mr. Le Quoc Phong directed local authorities and growers to change their consumption methods in the context of the epidemic.
Chau Thanh district must review in more detail the quantity, area, distribution of harvest time and understand the requirements of consumers about the quality of longan to organize classification and supply.

The Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Thap province has urgently contacted many distribution and consumption channels, e-commerce platforms and longan exporters. Currently, companies need 1,000 tons/month, but the left longan must meet the requirements. export.

The area under cultivation of longan in Chau Thanh district has been granted a planting area code of 168 hectares, achieving VietGAP certification 126 hectares and GlobalGAP nearly 20 hectares. Most of Chau Thanh district grows Edor longan, the most advantage of Edor longan is large fruit, average weight of 15 grams/fruit; thick rice, small seeds, sweet taste, delicious, less damaged when transported.
Edor longan yields 17 – 18 tons of fruit/ha (7 – 8 years old trees), the ability to yield 25 – 30 tons/ha (for trees over 10 years old).
