This morning 13/6, the price of buckets of pepper in the Southeast increased to 110,000-111,000 VND / kg and in the Central Highlands was lower than 1,000 VND / kg, in line with the price of April 7.
In the trading session last Saturday, pepper price in the world market re-established the record when it passed Rs 30,000 / quintal to stand at Rs 30,293 and Rs 30,170 for a near term. June and July.
Although prices of domestic pepper increased, the market was quiet. Many traders said that if they do not really need money to spend, farmers still hold goods. They wait for the price of VND 120,000 / kg to be renewed or may be higher to give up.
It is worth noting that when domestic pepper prices reached 110,000 VND / kg on April 7, the world pepper price also reached the level corresponding to the nearest two terms of Rs 25,812 / quintal and Rs 26,271. But today 13/6, the price of domestic buckets reached the milestone of VND 110,000 / kg, the world pepper price has surpassed approximately Rs 4,000 / quintal, equivalent to over 900 USD / ton ahead.
Comparing to see the difference between the world price of pepper and domestic price of pepper at the two time points is very significant. This is also the reason why our pepper farmers still hold goods that are not for sale.
It is also worth recalling that in 2008 pepper prices were once soaring and left to owners of goods, including gardeners and trading companies, a lesson to remember forever. In 1996, prices of domestic pepper also increased by VND 140,000 / kg when world prices increased to over 7,800 USD / ton.
Recently, export enterprises are increasing sales of black pepper grade of 500gr / l at 4,950-5,000 USD / tonne (FOB), while 550gr / l of grade has not seen transactions.
In 2010, Vietnam exported 111,861 tons of pepper of all kinds, reaching a turnover of $ 421 million, an increase of 15.7% compared to 2009, accounting for 47% of the world market share of pepper and continued to maintain its position as a superpower. World's No. 1 on pepper exports.
The plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade this year Vietnam strives to export 120,000 tons of pepper of all kinds, worth $ 470 million. Compared to last year, this indicator only increased by 3% in volume but increased to 12.1% in value thanks to rising export prices this year.
Thus, with 36.81% of turnover value and 53.33% of volume need to strive for the remaining 7 months, surely Vietnam's pepper industry will finish as soon as last year.
However, according to market technical analysts, this rally has no basis to last.
