Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that in the past 5 years, the agricultural sector still achieved an average growth rate of 2.71% / year and Export turnover is constantly growing.

In addition, the process of agricultural restructuring has been constantly deployed extensively, going deeply into productivity, quality and value-added. Production organizations are also constantly innovating, the number of enterprises investing in agriculture is increasing more and more, with the increasing scale of modern technology.

In order to achieve the above achievements, in addition to the attention of all levels and sectors, it is necessary to mention the implementation of a system of scientific and technological development solutions to take advantage of the achievements of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation in agriculture. Industry is a comprehensive solution that contributes to improving the efficiency of the whole industry, creating a breakthrough in rapid and sustainable development, increasing added value and efficiency.

Success of number conversion

With livestock, animal husbandry, IoT technology, blockchain, and biotechnology are widely applied on large-scale livestock farms. The dairy cow breeding industry applies the most digital technology, with the prominent model being the modern farms of TH Group and Vinamilk.

From a local perspective, Lam Dong is considered as one of the provinces with many achievements in agricultural digital transformation.

Representative of the Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) participating in the conference, Mr. Than Van Hung, Vice President of VIDA said that the potential of digital transformation in agriculture in Vietnam is huge because of the high support from agencies, ministries, branches to technology enterprises, agricultural enterprises.

Digital transformation has brought positive results not only in quality and productivity, but also significantly improved management and business practices in the agricultural sector.

“For VIDA, the association is having very specific action strategies. It is to support enterprises in the association to access new technologies, introduce technology enterprises such as FPT, VNPT to agricultural enterprises.

In addition, VIDA also gives policy advice to state management agencies such as the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to encourage and support the digital transformation in agriculture. The association also acts as a connection for experts, managers, businesses to discuss and find the optimal solution for the digitization of agriculture ”, Mr. Than Van Hung shared about VIDA’s way.

The head of Phuc Sinh Joint Stock Company also shared, regulators are calling for digital transformation and this is a very good signal. However, more support is needed for SMEs because they are struggling so much with the market.

“If the business is not able to pay staff salaries and has to manage to pay suppliers, it is very difficult to invest in technology for digital transformation. Therefore, it is necessary to have policies to support this area ”, Mr. Phan Minh Thong concluded.
