At the end of the session, the price of Robusta coffee on the ICE Europe – London exchange adjusted to a mixed trend. Futures for delivery in January decreased by 19 USD to 1,957 USD/ton and term for delivery in March decreased by 1 USD to 1,878 USD/ton, while futures for delivery increased. Trading volume is above average.

On the contrary, the price of Arabica coffee on the ICE US floor – New York adjusted down. March spot futures fell 0.45 cents to 168.90 cents/lb and May futures fell 0.30 cents to 168.75 cents/lb, slight losses. Trading volume remained below average.

The price of green coffee beans in the Central Highlands provinces decreased from 0 to 100 dong, to range from 41,000 to 41,600 dong/kg.

Coffee price corrected slightly on both exchanges when USDX reversed and US stocks dropped again in the general rest of speculators before Christmas this year. The liquidation of speculative positions before the end of January 2023 futures trading on the London floor also contributed to the slowdown in coffee futures prices.

While the economic downturn and the global pandemic have raised fears of a strong economic tightening by central banks and the zero-covid policy is not friendly with many restrictions from the Asian giant.
