According to expert analysis, in the past 3 weeks black pepper prices in Vietnam have been continuously decreasing, with the reduction of 1,000-1,500 VND / kg. Currently, the pepper price is only 57,000 – 59,000 VND / kg pepper price.
Particularly, pepper prices today in Chu Se (Gia Lai) only 57,000 VND / kg. In Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc pepper prices today at 58,000 VND / kg.
Coffee prices are in a rebounding trend
In recent days, coffee prices have been in a downward trend, sometimes even when the bottom “when there are only 35,500 VND / kg (16/5). However, the domestic coffee market quickly recovered immediately after the price of robusta coffee increased again.
Currently, prices of coffee beans in the Central Highlands range from 35,700 to 36,600 VND / kg, up from 300 to 600 VND compared to the beginning of the previous week (the price on May 14 was only 35,500 – 36,100 VND / kg).
However, this price is still lower from 6000 to 7000 VND / kg compared with the same period last year.
The world coffee market entered a price adjustment after the robusta rises above $ 1,800 / tonne in the first week of May. However, as the rally was not supported by the strongest factors ( supply – demand) so prices fell sharply soon after.
Analyst Nguyen Quang Binh said that the sharp drop was due to financial investment funds on both bourses made a full-year repurchase agreement for the three weeks to the end of the 7 / 5. Accordingly, the sales position of arabica fell to 40,000 contracts and the robusta to more than 8,000 contracts per kg.
On the other hand, the Brazilian real devaluation against the US dollar also stimulated Brazilian sellers to the market, pushing up supplies. Moreover, if there is frost in Brazil, the situation is also difficult to change because the Brazilian coffee in the program of re-farming has been moved to lower and warmer areas, Binh said.
Rubber price today “peak” highest in 4 months
At the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), rubber prices on May 21 delivery term in October increased 3.3 yen, equivalent to 1.7% to 197.2 yen ($ 1.78) per kg.
It was at 198.5 yen per kg, the highest level in almost four months, amid speculation that tensions between Beijing and Washington will ease.
Rubber futures in Shanghai ended the night trading up 0.4%.
The dollar was at 110.97 yen against 110.92 yen on Friday.
