Over the past years, the Party and State have many guidelines and policies to attract businesses to invest in the agricultural sector, such as Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the 10th Party Central Committee on agriculture and agriculture. people, rural areas; Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030 with a vision to 2045; Decree 57/2018/ND-CP dated April 17, 2018 on mechanisms and policies to encourage enterprises to invest in agriculture and rural areas; Resolution 53/NQ-CP dated July 17, 2019 on solutions to encourage and promote enterprises to invest in agriculture effectively, safely and sustainably,…

However, statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that there are currently over 50,000 enterprises investing in agriculture across the country, a very modest number compared to the total number of over 900,000 businesses operating in our country. It shows that attracting businesses to invest in agriculture is still a problem that needs to be solved in many localities.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Pham Tan Cong emphasized that the importance and major directions for sustainable agricultural development were stated in Resolution 19-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2022 of the Executive Committee. Executive Committee of the 13th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas in the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (NQ19); Decision 150/QD-TTg dated January 28, 2021 on approving the Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (QD150).

In particular, Resolution 19 clearly stated: Agriculture is the national advantage, the pillar of the economy. Develop effective, sustainable, integrated multi-value agriculture in the direction of enhancing added value and competitiveness, associated with promoting the development of processing industry, post-harvest preservation and market development. agricultural products both at home and abroad; encourage the development of green, organic and circular agriculture. Strongly shift thinking from agricultural production to agricultural economic development in association with market demand.

Decision 150/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister also sets the goal: To build a commodity-producing agriculture and at the same time develop agriculture based on local advantages, in the direction of modernity with productivity, quality and efficiency. efficient, sustainable and highly competitive.

“When we change our thinking from agricultural production to an agricultural economy, towards the goal of building a highly competitive, commodity-producing agriculture, this is a breakthrough in thinking and ways of doing business. do agriculture. And in order to do this, besides the farmer being the subject and the center of the agricultural development process, the role of the business as a companion, guide and promoter of agricultural economic activities will become increasingly important. The higher it is, even to be successful, farmers will also need to have the mindset of entrepreneurs and businesses to practice agricultural economics,” emphasized Mr. Pham Tan Cong.

According to VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong, in recent years, more and more businesses and entrepreneurs have invested in agriculture and rural areas, and businesses are becoming the core of the value chain of agricultural products.

However, Mr. Cong said that, compared with the requirements and great potential of Vietnam’s agriculture today, the investment space is still very large and for Vietnam’s agriculture to develop further, we still need to continue to grow. need more investment participation of enterprises, especially large enterprises.

“In the current context, to realize the goal of the agricultural sector in the coming period: ‘Develop smart agriculture, integrate internationally, adapt to climate change, increase added value and Sustainable Development; prosperous and civilized new countryside, rich farmers’ requires more participation and role of enterprises. It is businesses who will pave the way for Vietnam’s agricultural industry to step forward step by step, affirm its position in the world and from here, bring production efficiency and increase income for farmers. VCCI President Pham Tan Cong emphasized.

At the same time, he also affirmed that the role of enterprises has been shown very clearly in recent years when large enterprises have invested in the agricultural sector, which has brought about clear effects, bringing the value and brand of their products. Vietnamese products not only satisfy consumers but also “conquer” the world market.

VCCI leaders hope that, through this forum, authorities at all levels can grasp the difficulties faced by enterprises operating in the agricultural sector today, thereby providing synchronous and timely solutions to help businesses overcome difficulties. The industry really becomes the “nucleus” to pave the way and make breakthroughs to promote the development of the industry. With the goal of transforming “agricultural production thinking” to “agricultural economic thinking”, from “marketing” to “market research” towards “order agriculture”, enterprises It is expected that the State will continue to accompany with practical support mechanisms, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to improve production capacity, management capacity, market access and take advantage of integration opportunities. internationally, enhancing the position and value of Vietnamese agricultural products. This will be the premise to attract investment in sustainable agriculture in general and investment in sustainable agriculture in Long An in particular.
